Baseball Digest Live: Jimmy Scott's First Commentary

By Jimmy Scott - Posted on 03 July 2009

My relationship with Baseball Digest.com has grown.  Besides writing for the online version of one of my favorite childhood magazines, I'm now providing a weekly commentary for Baseball Digest Live, which is a daily online radio show run by Mark Healey, former AP writer and owner of Gotham Baseball.  Mark came to me, and he says, "Yo, Jaime, 'sup?"  And I says back, "Nuttin'.  A whole lotta nottin.'"  He laughed, or maybe it was a grimace - we were talking over the audio phone so I couldn't really "see" whether he was laughing or grimacing or merely falling asleep.  Anyway, Mark says to me, "Yo, Jaime, you, uh, you wanna do this thing for my thing?"  And I says, "Yeah, dat's okay by me, know what I'm sayin'?"  Know what I'm sayin'?  He pass me a few bills, tells me to buy myself a nice new ice cream cone, then I go off and do my thing, which is smart, concise, humorous beyond all that is humorous, and not cantakorous at all since the meaning of that word escapes me.  Well, to be frank, I never knew the meaning of that word.  But that's just between us, mmmkay?  Swell.  So, rather than bore you any further with my incessant ramblings about how much better I am than Mark Healey's dog and your left pinky toe (the one with the burning sore), let's just get right into the very famous-to-be: JIMMY SCOTT'S BASEBALL DIGEST LIVE! COMMENTARY.

Enjoy this to the fullest extent of the law.  And pray that I can come up with something for next week too.

By the way, the commentary's stems from my interview with former 15-year MLB catcher Brent Mayne.  To hear that, just click HERE.

Peace out, y'all.
