The Thurman Munson Awards: A Night In Pictures
Last night, February 2nd, was the annual Thurman Munson Awards Dinner at the Grand Hyatt in New York City. I received an invitation from Jerry Milani to hang with the media and watch all of the festivities from their point of view. I snapped some pictures, which I am unveiling to you exclusively here and on my Facebook page. Are we pals on Facebook? If not, let's be. I like you very much.
Two highlights of the night. The first, meeting Ralph Branca and his wife, Anne, who is a real pistol. She has more energy at 80+ than most Major Leaguers on ADD medication. Second, Cubs manager Lou Piniella's classic line: "The Cubs will win a World Series. I know they haven't for 100 years. But I've only been here for three."
Onto the photographs... You'll see Darryl Strawberry, Lou Piniella, Ed Randall interview Bobby Valentine, Joba Chamberlain, and some behind-the-scenes shots. I hope you like looking at these as much as I enjoyed taking them.
